Description

MAHER is considered to be a parthenocarpic type Beit Alpha open field cucumber variety. This variety’s fruits have the distinctive strong taste of open field varieties but the appearance and quality of parthenocarpic varieties. Plants are strong and vigorous with very good leaf cover. The number of male flowers is extremely low, produced only very rarely under very stressful conditions, and this variety produces cucumber fruits on every single node; both these characteristics are not present in most open field cucumber varieties. Fruits are firm, green to dark green in color with a good ribbness and grow to around 15-17 cm in length. Another characteristic of this variety is that it continues to produce a high yield even under high temperatures.
