Description

Alabama is an Italian type melon variety that produces oval-elongated fruits that turn a nice orange when reaching maturity with its rinds remaining a slight dark green color. The flesh is orange in color, crunchy with an excellent taste and aroma with a Brix of around 14-15?Bx and a small internal cavity. This variety has a main season maturity and high tolerance to hot weather. Plants are strong and very prolific having a good continuous production and very good leaf cover to protect the fruits in the field. Fruit-plant attachment is very good, fruit netting over outer skin is outstanding and the average weight is approximately 2.5-3 kg. Average number of fruits per plant is 4-6 fruits.
